Wasaga Beach has so much to offer to its residents and tourists with many fun, educational and exhilarating attractions and events. Although this year looks a little different, there are still many popular Wasaga attractions and occasions taking place with the necessary precautions to keep you and your family safe. Since Wasaga is known for its tourism, there will never be a dull moment as you and your family will always have exciting and fun activities to do!

Rounds Ranch

Enjoy all the family fun this fall at Rounds Ranch, a farm with over 20 entertaining activities, including a petting zoo, pony rides, tractor rides, zip lines, a corn maze, a new obstacle course, and much more! Some of these activities take place inside Ranchland, a fun and interactive play area for children.

Their annual fall event, Pumpkin Mania, allows families to pick their own pumpkins of any size and take them home to carve. There are a ton of games where your kids can win pumpkin-themed prizes, including Pumpkin Basketball, Pumpkin Pie Eating Contest, Pumpkin Rolling, Pumpkin Hockey, Sack Races, and more! It is currently running on weekends until Saturday, October 31st, 2020. Tickets are available on their site and include the price of the pumpkins picked and access to Ranchland!

Another event they have is the Flashlight Corn Maze that will run every Saturday evening in October from 4 pm to 10 pm. This event is an interactive maze puzzle that families can try to solve to find the secret treasure…in the dark! Your flashlight will help you navigate through all the twists and turns of the Corn Maze, just don’t get lost! The Flashlight Corn Maze package also includes a campfire, a cookhouse selling hot food and snacks, and if you come early, you will get a wagon ride out to the patch to pick your very own free pumpkin of any size! Free Spirit Tours

A popular attraction in Wasaga during the summer and fall months is Free Spirit Tours! Whether you’re visiting Wasaga or you’re a resident, you have to try one of their unforgettable experiences like Forest Therapy Walks, River Paddling, SUP (Stand Up Paddleboard) Paddling and more! Free Spirit Tours have been delivering memorable adventures in South Georgian Bay since 1998, exploring Wasaga Beach, Collingwood, Nottawasaga River, Beaver Valley, Metcalfe Rock, and Georgian Bay areas.

Specific to Wasaga Beach on the Nottawasaga River, SUP Paddling is a must-try experience! SUP boarding is one of the fastest-growing water sports, and many people rave about how peaceful yet thrilling it is. Free Spirit provides instructions and equipment for the lesson – you’ll be showing off your new skills to all your friends and family in no time! Or, if you’re already a pro, you can take a three-hour trip to enjoy the beautiful wilderness, seeing lots of wildlife on the way! They also have the same type of tour in canoes or kayaks for a variety of options.

If you’re looking to rejuvenate and connect with nature, then the Forest Therapy Walks along the Niagara Escarpment will be the perfect experience for you! They enhance your health, wellness, and happiness as you engage in a variety of activities that focus on presence, stillness, listening (to self and others), and senses. Leave the stress of everyday life and connect with yourself and your surroundings for a calming and memorable experience!

Wasaga Adventure Park

As one of the best paintball facilities in Ontario, Wasaga Adventure Park is an attraction like no other. It’s not your typical paintball facility as they offer many other activities like Low Impact Paintball, Laser Combat, Archery Tag, Nerf Wars, Axe Throwing, Airsoft, and Escape Rooms. They have something for all ages so the whole family can join!

Their regular Paintball is for anyone over the age of 10, but if you have younger kids or you’re not feeling like an intense game, they offer Low Impact Paintball that is safe for kids over the age of 8 and Nerf Wars for children over the age of 5. These games consist of fast-paced, adrenaline rushing challenges without any high impact! This way, the entire family can enjoy all the fun together!

Wasaga Adventure Park is most famous for its annual Wasaga Big Game that has been going on long before they can even remember! Their Frosty’s Revenge Winter Big Game was going to take place earlier this year, but due to the circumstances, it is now on for Sunday, November 1st, 2020. This event is excellent for getting some winter paintball in, win some prizes, and have a fun outdoor experience.

Wasaga Adventure Park is a perfect family activity as it’s in open spaces with fresh air, it’s an activity that requires no contact, they space out their staging areas, and they keep the park sanitized and clean at all times. Enjoy the fun without the worry!

Nancy Island Historic Site

Nancy Island Historic Site is a very well-known attraction in Wasaga that gives families an educational tour of the site where HMS Nancy, a sailing ship (schooner), battled against three American schooners during the War of 1812 in the Simcoe County and Georgian Bay region. Since 1928, this historical site has been an attraction. You and your family will take part in a hands-on historical demonstration, view an educational video explaining the crew’s heroic story, and climb to the top of a replica of a Great Lakes 19th Century lighthouse that will give you the best view of Wasaga Beach.

The historic site is unfortunately closed for the 2020 season but is planning on reopening in Spring 2021 and will take the necessary precautions to continue to give families a learning experience that is interactive and enjoyable for everyone. If you haven’t visited this site yet, it is highly recommended you go next year as it is a staple to Wasaga Beach.
